Gas monitoring Bwired

Maybe a capacitor will do the trick
I checked if my gas meter has a magnet but could not detect it. (I tried it with a DS10A magnet switch). It's still not clear to me how the solution of ddgiel works. With mirror or magnet or non of the above. I really want to measure gas usage but don't know how (besides having my gas meter replaced)
