Hi,

For those participants who are having a hard time to obtain a PIC chip containing the OpenTherm Gateway firmware, I'm now offering an initial programming service.

A few details:

- It's only for those who are a participant in one of these pcb rounds, as timewise it is not a good business proposition for me :-).
- It's only for the OpenTherm Gateway firmware, and only for initial programming; upgrades can be done without a programmer, once the firmware is in place.
- The cost is EUR 3,- per PIC chip; this will help paying for the PIC programmer that I bought myself especially for the OpenTherm Gateway :-).
- Note that the price is equal to the service offered by VOTI, but you won't have to pay another EUR 3,50 for shipping and handling.

How it works:

- If you want to use this service, please contact me by e-mail or PM.
- I'll then send you my mailing address and you can send me your blank PIC chip of the correct type (as obtained from e.g. Conrad).
- Make sure you package it in a small sturdy container, otherwise it might break some legs. Shipping is at your own risk and expense.
- Make sure that I receive the PIC chip before I send out the pcbs, as I'll return it together with the pcb.

I hope this might help some of you out.

Hi Lennert,

Please place me on a list for a pcb :D

Are you only ordering pcb`s or is it possible to order the pic programmed by you. Maybe there are enough participant to buy 10 pics, program them and send them to us ?

Hi Raymon,

You're on the list and you have a PM.

Look at my previous posting for a PIC programming service. I have no intention to keep the PICs in stock, but if you send me yours, I can program it for you for a small fee.

Hoi Lennart,

which programmer did you buy? I'm planning on buying/building my own programmer, just in case I want/need to change the code.

Regards, Jeroen

Hi Jeroen,

I bought a PICkit3, as I intend to do some PIC based development, but there are numerous options. A PICkit2 might suit your purpose as well. And then there are the many many eBay clones out there. Note that you don't need a programmer once the initial firmware is in the PIC chip, as there's option to upload a new firmware in the OpenTherm Gateway software.

@Mark59: You ordered a pcb on October 5 (see page 1 of this topic) but didn't respond to any of my PMs. Please contact me a.s.a.p. by e-mail if you are still interested (address is in the PM I sent to you). Otherwise, I'm afraid that I'll have to remove you from the list.

Thanks!

Hi Lennart,

tnx for the info. I will look for and PicKit3 on ebay or marktplaats ;)
This way, if it doesn't work flawlessly with my Intergas I can debug.

@bus147

Yes, you can. But as the current rounds have filled up, I'll create a new round for your pcb(s) and it might take a while before there are enough people to order the pcbs (I have the boards made as soon as 7 people are sure that they want one).

Also: please let me know if you want 1 or 2 boards, as this is important for the list.

I'll contact you as soon as we reach 7 pcbs.

As far as the PIC programming is concerned: yes, I could do that for you as an extra service.

Hi Richard,

I can certainly add you to the list, but please find out if it will work for your ATAG boiler beforehand. I'll add you as soon as you are sure that you want one.

Thanks,

Lennart

Hi Lennart

Thanks for the reply. I've checked and the ATAG uses a Z-Bus (Open Therm) so should work fine, so please can you add me to the list for one pcb?

Thanks

Richard
