Hi HenkJan,
These files contain your longitude/latitude coordinates to collect the rain prediction data for the next 2 hours. You can set these coordinates by clicking on the rain tile.
If you don't use that nothing to worry about.

You will meed to manually install cron first as posted above.
After that install buienrader again via Toonstore.
Happy Xmas

OK, I never have done that. My Toon was rooted be Terrorsource. If I do the thing with the cron-file, the problem with the traffic app is also solved?

That's probably because the cron-tasks were not installed properly.
Make sure cron is installed and check the jobs, it's supposed look like this:
Code: Select all
# crontab for root
# The time and date fields are:
#
# field allowed values
# ----- --------------
# minute 0-59
# hour 0-23
# day of month 1-31
# month 1-12 (or names, see below)
# day of week 0-7 (0 or 7 is Sunday, or use names)
#
SHELL=/bin/sh
*/5 * * * * /root/bin/buienradar_get_data_5min.sh
2 */1 * * * /root/bin/buienradar_get_data_hourly.sh

You can resolve this by following the steps to configure cron described by Rudolf two posts above.
Or you can wait a couple of days. I have the new buienradar version 8.3.0 ready which works via https directly without the need for these cron jobs.
You will need to have a certificate added to Toon to get it to work.
I just need to decide whether to do this automatically from within the buienradar app itself or through the buienradar install script in ToonStore.

@Toonz
I think it's beter to do it in the Toon app. The Traffic information app doesn’t work either, it looks like it is due to the same issue

Traffic app (fileinfo from ToonStore) is working fine here, not using https (source data is coming from
http://xml.fileindex.nl/ ).
Maybe you have to change your filter settings within the app?

@Toonz
The problem with the Traffic app was indeed a filter issue. Problem solved. Terrorsource tried to solve the problem with the Buienradar app, did not succeed and is searching for a solution. Of possible can you inform us when the new Buienradar app will be released.

Hi all,
Please read the full message before enthusiastically pressing any buttons

.
The wait is over. Buienradar 8.3.0 is released on ToonStore.
This version will work directly via https with the buienradar website.
In order to get this working we had to install SSL certificates on Toon.
To do this properly we had to upgrade ToonStore to 1.1.0 first.
So, if you are still on an earlier version of ToonStore please update ToonStore first to version 1.1.0.
Only after restart of Toon proceed with the update of the Buienradar app via ToonStore 1.1.0.
In Buienradar 8.2.1 we introduced an https workaround via cron. This is not needed anymore.
The buienradar 8.3.0 installer will remove these from /root/crontab if existing.
Warning: if you have edited /var/cron/crontab directly, those jobs will be removed.
Our installer is taking the entries from /root/crontab and applies these to the cron daemon.
As always any feedback is welcome,
Kind regardz,
Toonz & Marcelr

Other cron jobs for the waste collection app will stay untouched.
Nice work!
However my other cron jobs where removed also:
@reboot cp /root/iptables.conf /etc/default/iptables.conf
@reboot cp /root/passwd /etc/passwd
Not a big deal for me but maybe you can look into this.
