What's wrong with my ms13?

Today I changed the batteries of an MS13 sensor. Has been up and running for approx two years on two "eneloop" rechargeable batteries without any problems. But after changing the batteries for newly loaded ones I can't get it working. in the log it shows:
So my first thought where the batteries are not fully loaded. Having them loaded a it longer did not help. Also removed the device from Homeseer and created a new one which did not help. So what's next? Any ideas?
