For videoserver is I use the AXIS 241Q http://www.axis.com/products/cam_241/index.htm standalone Videoserver
which has four PAL/NTCS inputs and motion detection for each channel.

It has a webserver so it can be directly reached from the internet.
The best option on the AXIS 241q howeever is the great API interface, the videoserver can be totally controlled by my Home automation system. If an event uccors like somebody is ringing the doorbell, I can easely take a picture or record a video off every channel. At the moment I have four camera's attacted to the AXIS 241Q .Image axis241screen.gif

Sony EVI-D100 PTZ CCD Visca Camera 10 x optical zoom (front camera)

Sony EVI-D30 PTZ CCD Visca Camera 12x optical zoom (back camera)

Sony FCB-IX47P CCD Visca Camera 18x zoom (office camera)

Sunkwang SK-D105 Dome camera with a 1/3 Sony CCD (door camera)

My Day and Night security camera is Mobotix MD10-Night http://www.mobotix.com/eng/products This camera has its own webserver, motion detecting, a dual lens and also a complete API interface. The dual lens of this camera is able to pictures at a resolution of 1280*960 and is switching automaticaly to the infrared second lens at night.

The other camera's are controlled by a little self written visual basic program. The VB6 Camera Server can be used two ways. You can use the built in Webserver on a server port, this will generate a standard webpage which contains a remote Pan/Tilt Zoom control. It is also possible to create your own webpage with a image map and push commands like Up, Down, Zoom etc. to the CamServer. This Visual basic program needs no third-party controls, consumes little memory and almost no CPU time.

Features VB6 Bwired Camera Server :
- Built in Webserver (not used bt Bwired)
- Go to preset after x minutes
- Minimize to system tray (animated icon)
- Run Server on startup
- Log camera user IP address and activity
- Set Camera of between sunset and sunrise.
- User can switch camera on
- Play sound with every new online user
- Privacy setting, only Presets permitted
- Block IP addresses annoying users
