Being fairly unfamiliar with LED lights I have a couple of questions

PLAN: to replace LED spots (built in, kitchen) with new LED spots. These will be controlled & dimmed by a Fibaro Z-wave Dimmer Module 500W

QUESTIONS
- What should I look out for when choosing the power adapter (driver) for these LED lights?
- Should I get 12V or 230V LEDs?
- What's the minimum Wattage that the dimmable LED driver should support? (only 2 LED spots per Fibaro Dimmer module)

If the system you have now is 230v I should keep it that way. Depending how much spots and how big the room is I would choose 3W or 5W led spots. (GU10)

With 4 led spots there is almost no buzzing from the dimmer, but at certain settings you still can here some buzzing.

Note: I think the buzzing only occurs on low dimlevel? When for example this occurs on level 30 you can choose to set the minimum dimlevel to 32 to prevent this. The dimmer will then deny level lower than 32

Note2: I`m not using the dimmer bypass because it gave me strange response of the "Postcode loterij" led bulbs. I`m now in the process of changing to philips HUE and use the dimmer only as remote control device (HUE LUX is almost cheaper then dimmable philips led bulbs)

Hi. I'll change this week to led (gu10 philips masterled dimtone). Will use qubino modules. I'll post my results later.

In the mean time I'm also testing some scenarios that I will share later!

Today my led bulbs came in. These are the Philips masterled dimtone gu10 bulbs. The qubino modules didnt come in yet. So i tried them with my current fibaro dim module. I'm really happy with the results. I use five bulbs and Theres no flickering when dimming or switching the bulbs. The light becomes more yellow when dimmed because of a single led with a warm white color. This led turns brighter when i dim the lights, while rest of the leds dim. This makes the bulb feel like real halogen bulbs. 4.5 watt replace my 50 watt lamps.

Waf: girlfriend likes the color when dimmed and the fact they dont flicker.

Hi, found this thread and especially Phaetons comment very interesting.
I am trying to get the combination of Philips MasterLED Dimtone GU10 and Fibaro Dimmer 2 to work. Everything works beside the most important functionality: Switching Off the bulb leads to low light flickering. It does not completely switch of.
I was wondering if there are any settings you could recommend.

Hopefully, I am not regarded as being blunt chiming into this thread as a new forum user

Did you use a dimmer bypass? It could be that you're below the minimum of watts needed? The bypass makes sure the load is high enough to be able to dim. Normally I noticed this in the lower percentages of dimming.

How much dimtone gu10 do you use and which wattage do they have?

as far as i know you have to set dimmer 2 to led

I do have three dimtone GU10 with 15W in sum. So, I will try it with the bypass.
I think I have checked and modified the dimmer settings without success. Will double-check though.

One more question: have you also tried the Quibino dimmer with the dimtones?

Looking into your issue a little more. The minimum load according to a webshop is 25watt. So you need the bypass. For the dimmer2 you need the bypass2.

Based on your input, I have eventually done some testing

Result: The Philips Dimtone GU10 LEDs (3 pieces) work like a charm with:
- Fibaro Dimmer 2 with Bypass installed
- Qubino Dimmer

There is NO noise at all. Even my wife had to admit that
Dimming works at all levels. Very good warm white.

what did you use to control the Fibaro Dimmer 2 / - Qubino Dimmer? 0-10V or switches? if 0-10V, which mark/model?
