Homeseer with Arduino

Post by walberg »

I have the Arduino mega board with the network 5100 board and Homeseer 3, i have setup a lot of ip adresses but when i give view device management i alway get disconnected.
1) must i get additional software to a directory of homeseer?
2) How could i check which adres is used by the 5100 card (my internet router) gives all adresses but does not remove an adres when unplugg the Arduino
All the tx and rx leds are blinking.
3) How do i upload the board software? When i give in Homeseer download firmware to board 1 the software is goin to my computer, not to the Arduino.

Do you mean the Arduino plugin for HS3 ?

http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=164954

The plugin is available in the HS3 updater http://yourhomeseerip/interfaces
Running HS3PRO on PC with Z-Wave / OpenTherm / Plugwise / RFXcom / MQTT / XAP400 / Logitech Media Server and Squeezelite on PI`s

On the Arduino, do you see the MAC address on a label? When you have the MAC address you can look at the router list of IP's, where it 99% of the time also shows the MAC address.
you can also use a product like this https://www.softperfect.com/products/networkscanner/ to scan the network before and after you connect the box to the network.
Regards, Maarten.

simply set the ip address in the code before uploading, because the standard address is possibly not in the right range as you are using now, so the mac address trick won't work then also.

Too bad No mac adres on the label, there is no label! i checked it yesterday. My cablemodem Thompson TWG870u does not see it and also lansweeper (i installed it on the netbook as it is only windows) but it does not see the Arduino. I made 4 new cables My rackswitch does reply with orange led (Dlink smart) Even changed the port with the other 24 ports, no response so i should mail the shop where i bought the shield last week (vanallesenmeer.nl)

I shall inform the forum when i have an answer.

After trying to load Homeseerboard1.ino in MAC and Windows on my netbook and later on a just repaired laptop Toshiba Sattelite i finally get an IP Adres on my 5100 board after using my old arduino-1.0.6-macosx.zip from my TimeMachine backup. Al other Windows versions didn't work. I had to change my adres of Homeseer 192.168.0.10:500 to standard 80 (192.168.0.10) as the compiler always even with this old Mac version gives compiling error with added Port (500).

Now my Arduino card is visible in my Router with his static adres 192.168.0.40 And in Homeseer i got Connected board1 but i can not make a device with pins and sensors. When i choose pin 5 and one wire pin (Dallas 1wire temp sensor) i got disconnected.

Its a problem with the Dallas device, i have a dallas chip in a housing from Solid Steel (RVS) i discovered when i picked it up it measures and when i lay it down it stops measuring. So the problem is with the Dallas ic. Not a Homeseer problem, Sorry.

Never heard of it that port problem,
You probably done something wrong since as you see on the movie I do nowhere add the home seer Webserver port.
The port that is there is for the plug-in which you need to connect to the board and back...
