'220V' powered Fibaro motion sensor FGMS-001
'220V' powered Fibaro motion sensor FGMS-001
The battery for my Fibaro motion sensor has to be replaced every month...., even when the motion sensitity is set to lowest level. Based on a topic on Tweakers http://goo.gl/ITy3iY, which I tried earlier, but the space in a electric box is quit small. I was searching for an easier and smaller solution, than to use a 220V to 5V usb adapter + usb cable + 3.3 voltage regulator.
I found the IRM 05-3.3 which convert 220V directly into 3.3V. This small piece of hardware (45,7 x 25,4 x 21,4 mm) could be bought for less than 8 euros and is easy to fit in the smallest electric outside wallbox.
My Fibaro motion sensor FGMS-001 is now '220V' powered. Now the update parameters can be changed to sent certain levels more often.

For outdoor applications i`m using this kind of waterproof box because u can use "swivels" which are more waterproof than using no swivels at all
b.t.w also a nice idea for a SM103 which is using more battery than is should be. I have three of them but one of them really likes battery's, even when i set wake up interval to 1300 minutes
I also found the link for the power supply

In my situation the bigger case doesn't fit in the space between the wall and the wooden part and I don't want to have the box on the left side of the wooden part
For me the IRM is a low cost solution, hopefully it will work for a long time.

http://www.eoo-bv.nl/index.php?_a=viewCat&catId=536
Input: 85Vac...265Vac
Output: 3,3V +/-2% 1350mA (2000mA piek)
Efficiency 65%, <0,2W no load
Myrra 47151
Prijs: €7.90
Hier gebruik in de 5v versie in een esp12 projectje

For 5V, get the HLK-PM01, see: http://domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=7832

Yes, I was looking for a "normal" adapter as well, but could not find anything below 15 euros: http://www.elektronicawereld.nl/categor ... ng/details
I do not have very good experiences with those Chinese adapters... and you have to buy 100 or 500 at one. On the other hand, I am sure that all combined in this thread only, we probably already have over 50 motion sensors in use

Re: '220V' powered Fibaro motion sensor FGMS-001
yes we have way more then 50 motion sensors in the topic
i was looking at the same, if we mail the vendor they will also send 5 or 10, we just tell its for demo...
most of the adapters are from china so dont worry
i dont like the adapters who you can set to diff voltages, often not the right voltage.

yes good link
this one is very nice if you have enough room, for example a sensor outside the fusebox closet in the hallway.

I bought them in Germany: reichelt.de/index.html?ACTION=3;ARTICLE ... IRM-05-3.3

thanks, right saw it again in your upper post
with the risk of taxes, Germany perhaps a better option

Re: '220V' powered Fibaro motion sensor FGMS-001
Not for a fibaro sensor, but I have some spare Everspring motion sensor which uses 4x1,5V AA batteries.
How do you guys know how many amp the motion detector needs? What amp would be safe for my sensors?

If a sensor is battery powered the you can safely asume that the consumption is in the milli amps range and not amps.
So if it uses 10mA then you can power is with anything higher then this.
Note: Amps is irrelevant here, voltage is. Those 4 batteries can deliver a few amps when shortened but provided 10mA nicely when needed.
