KNX from china

Just back from Austria where I stayed in Guesthouses and I noticed the (good looking) switches controlled all the light remotely so I searched for the controls and found a box with a few dinrails in the corridor. It mentioned K-bus and very small KNX. It all worked well. I asked the owner why he used the KNX system for his guesthouse and he told me he installed it all himself and was domotica fan. He had a test setup in his own house and he allowed me to see his control room. It was unfinished so I could have a look at the cabling.
He used special green KNX cabling for the controls and pretty simple two wires for the lights but it was all neatly done.
I asked where he got the materials and if it was not very expensive to have a full set in every room. (I saw about 7 switches in one room, about 50 rooms)
It all came from China, ordered directly and worked well. The company website: http://www.video-star.com.cn/en/
That is a typical messy Chinees website but for my new new house in Thailand it might be worth testing. Could not find prices so will do an inquiry and report back.I am not impressed with Z-wave or battery powered devices so let's see if this is an alternative. He told me also that the screens were pretty good and there are all kinds of interfaces to IP and RS232 available.
If others are interested, it might be worth making a wish/shopping list.

Got a nice mail back from the international salesmananager of GVS. Of course wit the standard text "we sell only through resellers' but since there are none, there will be room for interpretation....

I got a product list, guide price list, with the immediate announcement for 50% discount over 10K. Nice is the concept and whole package but it seems to end up at least double from a Z-wave implementation. With Qubino now also delivering DIN rail units It might be the better option. Don't need status leds in every switch. :-)
