I have a question if someone has experience with a program to make a good database.
What i am trying to achieve is to set up a database with several tables to select on or search in.
First i have used Excel to enter all my cables that run in my house, this looks good but when i want to search or select on some sort cable or place this was a bit difficult to do.
Also when i select something and accidentally press save my other part of the database is gone.
This has happened to me, so i lost 333 entries of the database.
luckily i printed everything but i have to re enter all in a database again.
Except the waisted time i do not wat to experience this again, and i am looking to something where this does not happen anymore.
Hope i explained clear enough, any ideas or suggestions
Please say so
Thanks in advance
Vince

I like to use Filemaker for database engine, it is a real what you see is what you get db with extnted scripting and full relational setup.
You can create portals based on the relation and filtered based on anything you want...
Just import your first excel sheet to begin with and build from there.
