Strips by Sensative (door/window sensor)

Post by Rutger »

Last week I bought 2 new Z-Wave Plus door/windows sensors in the UK. I found them also in Sweden, but UK was faster with shipping, combined with some other stuff.
At he moment I use Visonic (MCT-302T) sensors for security, but when new devices has to be added to my home automation system, it will be Z-Wave.
Via Indiegogo I found these strips from Sensative but some other webshops sell them too (but not in NL yet|). The sensors are quit nice and almost invisible to mount, weatherproof and batterylife up to 10 years (!).

Adding them in HS3 was fast and easy and the devices were created without problems.

If it's working like the Visonic sensor, I can't say anything about it at the moment because they are not mounted yet.

Looks very nice, saw this earlier on a crowdfunding site. As I have never been able to get a battery life equal to the promised life by the vendor I have my doubts because until now you have to buy a new unit if the battery is empty. If they could come up with a replacement battery then I think it's worthwhile investing in this.

It's not always the funtionality of the product, I think the cosmetic aspect is these days also very important (especially for the WAF). The Aeon-DSB54 (with replaceble battery) was a good alternative for this, but more work to install.
If the battery will operate for 7 years, it's fine for me too, I think...
