Hi,

I'm looking for a nice solution to a light-switching problem I have. I have a older house which is partly renewed but still has some old switches (build-on the wall). Now I have a light-point in the staircase which can be switched on and off with a hotel switch. Since I need to renew the lights (build in halogen spotlights) off witch the adapter died, I'd like to improve things a bit. So I want to have led lights in place, which is no problem. But I also would like to have the lights in my Hs3 automation system.
Normally this is not a problem. Just have a Fibaro switch build into the Hotel Switch.
But in this case, that is not possible because there is no space in the switch (on wall type) and also some wires needed for the switch to work are not available.

So, what are other possibilities to make these lights smarter? Preferably with a z-wave solution, since it gives instant status update in Hs3. But any other smart solution will be fine too.

So no space in the wall switches
I have "Hotel" switches in place
No possibility to add wires form or to the switch
I have some space above (in) the ceiling where the light-connection point is.
The solution must be highly WAF

Anyone with a smart idea that I did not think off?

you can build the fibaro next to the ceiling light
in fact you can do this with all youre ceiling lights

Thanks for your advice. I have thought about that, but what to do with the wiring? As far as I know there are just two wires available at the light-point. So how would that work, also in combination with the "hotel switch" ?

wiring doesn't change

both wall switches are connected with the black wire on the light
that wire will be the switch wire on the fibaro module
you just have to connect 1 short wire between the module and the light

Ok, I did have a look at the scheme you referred to. As you can see on the picture attached, I only have two (old) wires, near the light bulb and no blue or brown wires nearby. So how to connect the wires to the module? Or do I need a blue wire somehow?

i guess red is the blue wire (neutral)
you need a green wire (fase)

so you need a green wire, or use the black wire as fixed (connect the two wires behind the wall switch and use a couple of wall transmitters to switch the module

Ok, thanks for the colour scheme. I will try to find a (Brown) wire form an wall-plug on the attic and try to use that. Since I need to keep the "hotel switch" working. Give it a try tomorrow lets see how it ends up

with multiple wireless wall transmitters you have the "hotel switch"with as many swithes as needed
i guess you need a green wire, from the same als as the red one (aardlek)

Volgens mij moet je oude draden vervangen door de nieuwe kleur coderingen op het moment dat je er mee aan de slag gaat. Maar ik kan daar even geen bewijs voor vinden.
