Here some hints that are hopefully get you a bit further.
Try to find some measurement points, e.g. find the voltage range of some of the chips from a datasheet and measure the Vcc pin.
It looks you had a short-circuit before. If you can find where this short was it might help you e.g. was it the boiler module, or the Toon itself.
If it was the Toon, look for damage components (smelly components).
Carefully verify that you connected the serial port correctly.

Toon is working, It start up. I send allready a mail to Quby for getting root access to the Toon. Hopefully they give it.
How can I see the boot version of the Toon, without connecting the Toon via usb to the PC?

I'm not entirely sure, but if your display's serial number starts with 16, there's a strong possibility that it's boot loader version R10.
Only when you look at the boot loader output at boot, you can be sure (for now).
EDIT: yes, this one should be easily rootable (production year 2014, serial number 14-xx-xxx-xxx)

So, the new Toon is rooted. I can remote login via ssh. Now to get the rooted Toon in Domoticz

Is there a way to pass the activation? I reset to factory defaults, but has no activation code
found on the forum
change <activated>1</activated> in the config_happ_scsync.xml

did you receive your root quickly from quby?
i get a slow response and try get my root since 4 weeks already.

I tried the Quby method at first (3 times over three to four weeks) but i never got a response.
After that i rooted Toon with the help of Marcel and his JTAG solution posted in the tutorial. It is documented quite nicely and works flawlessly.

Just a note, the TTL adapter sold by Kiwi is also sold on Ebay (don't know if they are the same). But some on Ebay are 5v logic level and others are 3.3v logic level.
Could you measure the TX&RX pins of the TTL adapter and see what the voltage is? If they are indeed 5v Toon may be damaged in the process.
