Toon firmware 5.18.8 released
Eneco released toon firmware 5.18.8 and after a few checks TSC also released 5.18.8 to the rooted community. Easiest is to check their forum to read what's new: https://forum.eneco.nl/software-en-hard ... gaan-22580
Download fase of the update is a bit slow currently due to the auto update on regular toons causing tons of toons downloading the update right now.

OMG those themes are so tacky and tasteless.
Wondering what was the person thinking when he/she made that executive decision to implement this into the software update..
I hope there is a possibility to switch them off.

Yup, we saw them before the release... no-one liked the theme's. They should be focusing on solving the issues Toon has instead of making tasteless themes.Ron_nl wrote:OMG those themes are so tacky and tasteless.

Re: Toon firmware 5.18.8 released
Decided to update my rooted Toon from firmware 5.15.6 to 5.18.8 however when running the update-rooted.sh script and selected to upgrade to version 5.18.8 I get the following warning: "Warning: upgrade script from Eneco server is changed. Do you want to continue downloading the files (if not sure, type no and report in the forums)?". As I am not 100% sure what this will do I aborted the upgrade. Is this something I shouyld indeed be concerned about or is thsi expected and am I good to go?
Which version do you want to upgrade to?
5.18.8
Alright, I will try to upgrade to 5.18.8

Re: Toon firmware 5.18.8 released
Hi,
This is a safe measure so an update of the official Toon update script can't unroot your toon if they update their script to remove all rooted toons or something like that.
You did the right thing and ask.
However the script isn't changed as I justed checked it. Makes me wonder why your Toon thinks it is. Can you run "grep feed /etc/hosts" and post the results? Can you also post your toonstore version?

Can you try again? And if it shows it again please cancel it again and run:

Ok tried just before your reply and got the same response however when I tried again just now I now get the following response:
Which version do you want to upgrade to?

Upgrade script downloaded. We need to download the upgrade files first. No upgrade is done yet. Do you want me to download the files (yes) or quit (anything else)?
So that looks a lot better. Now instead of typing "y" on the question to upgrade the script I typed "yes" so could that potentially have made the difference?
The result of "md5sum /mnt/data/update/upgrade-*.sh" is "4c06044aaebf7cace0b7aee144498bd2 /mnt/data/update/upgrade-qb2.sh" by the way.

Re: Toon firmware 5.18.8 released
Well it no longer showed the warning. So I believe all is OK now and started the upgrade now.
Are your sure you want to upgrade to 5.18.8 (yes)? This is the last moment you can stop the upgrade. Answer with 'yes' will start the upgrade.
yes
Starting the upgrade now! Just wait a while... It can take a few minutes.
Waiting to finish. Sometimes this takes a minute or two ...
Installing curl as in some update it is removed due to buggy dependencies...
Package curl (7.50.0-r0) installed in root is up to date.
Upgrade done!
Restoring your iptables and passwd files so you can login again after rebooting.
Upgrade is done. However each firmware upgrade will revert the changes to some files needed for a working rooted Toon. Do you want me me to try and fix a few well known issue's for you right now?
yes

No. So should be related to some issue on your Toon. Or VPN issue's on Eneco side. But it works now and that is the most importantrbak wrote:Well it no longer showed the warning. So I believe all is OK now and started the upgrade now.
