Can minicom but can't do the auto

Hi,
Changing cables for a few days now and can't get auto root to work. BUT i can get in with a terminal screen. I have the r8 version.
The other cables beside the rx, tx and gnd aren't needed for a r8 right? When i disconnect the other jtag cables it won't work either.
I'm using a raspberry pi 2b.
This is a strange situation isn't it?

did you read the readme correctly? I think you forgot to enable serial and disable terminal on serial

Wtf is Toon running on?
I started a ping and i'm in an infinite loop now.
Non of these commands land: Q, q, escape, shift escape, ctrl shift backspace and, ctrl s, ctrl z of course ctr c
I'm scared to reboot now i'm manually rooting.

in the 'safe' mode or single mode you don't have Getty running and therefore missing commands like ctrl-c

Nu start ik toon en kom ik in # maar zelfs het commando get werkt niet. Zit ik nu weer in een bananen shell dan?

Also, i have a feeling i'm not root while beeing #.
This is what a LS shows. Shouldn't it be more?

Ladies and Gents,
Thanks, it worked.
A Tip for you admins to do for the rest of the globe is to make a pretty manual in Html here on the forum. Had to switch tabs between martin jacobs github, ehaco, bor, einstein and your copied 'code' text which i pasted in ms word.
I did take i peep in the store and i saw pihole stats... You adventurous adventurer

What is wrong with the PDF manual in
viewtopic.php?f=100&t=11235#p82533 ?
It states, only try manual root if you are brave. Just use the toonrooter if otherwise.

I was stuck at this step until I found this thread and apparently I didn't know what I was doing=)
