Hi guys,

Has anybody tried the Root-A-Toon-USB-Stick? I tried it on two computers, with a USB booted Kali Linux version, but although the script to setup the shared network seems to does what it's supposed to do, I see no ToonRouter network, not even after waiting for an hour...
Thanks for any help!

Kind regards,
Eric

Hi @TheHogNL,

I haven't been able to get it working through the script itself. The ToonRouter network simply isn't shown for some reason. However, if I use an Ethernet cable and use the nmcli device wifi hotspot command, I do have a working ToonRouter network and all the rooting scripts are working too.
I will send a suggestion to the developer of the Root-A-Toon-USB-Stick procedure to include this option into his script. Thanks for your help!

Update 28-9: Just for the record: I did some extensive investigation and most WiFi adapters do not support WiFi routing over the same adapter. That's why it's not working for me. The WiFi hotspot method over an Ethernet cable is a working alternative though.

Kind regards,
Eric

Hi,
everything works except the rooting.
I want to root a toon2 wit h6.1.8 but at the end i recieve.

The payload and response have been sent.
Now waiting for the Toon to pick up the payload.
Depending on the firmware of the Toon this can take a minute or so.

I also recoverd the toon to 4.xxx but same message.
Anybody a sollution or tip.
