Programming Xanura micromodules with CTX35

Post by dzax »

Hi,

I intent to build a home automation system based on Xanura products. My main controller will be Xanura CTX35.

I came in contact with one Xanura reseller and told me that I CANNOT program Xanura micromodules with CTX35. He proposed, that I should use a remote control and an X-10 transceiver.

By checking some posts in Bwired forum, I saw that this approach (remote control) is recommended.

I was thinking that I could program Xanura micromodules by sending the right commands from my PC, through CTX35. Isn’t it possible?

Looking forward to receiving your experienced views.

Thanx,
Dzax

Hi Dzax,
Perhaps Mindbender can answer this one.
Look at this topic http://www.domoticaforum.eu/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=36
He was in the middle of completing a software tool which could program the Xanura modules.

Programming Xanura micromodules with CTX35

Hi,

I've seen the post of Mindbinder, but there are no News since June.

I hope that this does not mean that programming of Xanura micromodules is not feasible by a simple PC interface like CTX35!

Looking forward to hearing from Mindbinder the progress of his tool and his views on whether it is feasible or not.

Hello dzax,

There are 2 test programms for the CTX35.

The ACT TI103 variant from act solutions can be downloaded from

http://www.act-solutions.com/Extras/TI103-SW.zip .

For the TI103 software choose 19200 Baud instead of the standard 9600 Baud.

The Holec translated variant can be found here
http://www.xanura.nl/scripting/download ... X15_35.zip

There is also a manual for the programm included.

You can use both programms to send commands to the CTX35 and also to the Xanura modules.
For instance to programm a SAIX on adress H3, push the swith on the SAIX, type the command
H03H03 and press the Transmit button two times with 2 seconds delay.
(Use Capitals in the commands, otherwise it doesn't work)

The programm also gives a good logging of the communication between the CTX35 and the computer.

Hi DMB,

I would like to thank you for your useful information regarding CTX35 test software. It is nice that programming of micromodules is so easy with the use of this tool. I guess that the same tool can be used to program autoACK etc.
It is very strange though, that the reseller I came in contact with, did not mention this programing option.
He was hopping that I have to buy PUX or maybe the suggested combination of TM13 and remote control.
I am afraid that you ruined his hopes[:)]

Once more, thank you very much,
Dzax

dzax,

To program a SAIX on address H03 with auto acknowledge:

- Push switch on SAIX for 5 seconds. The red led is on.

Type command

H03H03

and press the Transmit button, wait 2 seconds, press the Transmit button again. The led wil flash 2 times.

Type command

HOFFHOFF

and press the Transmit button, wait 2 seconds, press the Transmit button again. The led wil flash 3 times.

Push the switch on the SAIX or wait a minute.

The module is programmed now on address H03 with auto acknowledge.

Hi I have a CTX35 which I try to get running with the (a bit flaky) Misterhouse TI103 driver. Can somebody e-mail me the Xanura Test_CTX35_CTX15.zip file?

I cannot download it anymore from Xanura.nl and what to test my module with it.. Does anybody know how to reset the CTX15 module inside to default settings, or how I can reveal the Addresss of the CTX15, it worked a bit, but now I cannot get it to go anymore, as if I reprogrammed it to another address or something while testing my software.

I tried to program an AIX and SAX35 module but cannot get the modules to recoqnise the data i'm sending...

Thanks in advance...!
When I have it running again, i'll post my domotics website and wiki link...

Hi All
The link to the Xanura CTX35 software is restored, so now its possible again to download the file Test_CTX35_CTX15.zip from the Xanura Site. Here is the direct link http://www.xanura.nl/Download/Test_CTX15_35.zip
RDNZL thank you for reporting this!

Pffff...

Finally found the reason why my Xanura CTX35 suddenly stopped working a few days ago while making the TI103 drivers in Misterhouse work, it was caused by very bad soldering inside the unit.

There a 4 wires running from the CTX15 to the circuit board, the Red one (tx) was loose...

The rest of the soldering was also very badly done!!
But luckily it works again!
You have been warned! [8D]
