Alarm system. What to get?

I would like to add an alarm system to the house.

For now I will need 4 door (TX) swithes (I like the one that Lennart is using (visonic?)).
I will also be needing one (or maybe two) PIR sensors.
The setup will need to work in combination with RFXcom and HomeSeer.
I do not need any fancy outdoor siren or flashing lite.
I do like to have an option to make it call a phone number (I guess HomeSeer could do this)

The budget that I have for now is +/- 300 euro

Anyone here who could suggest what make and version to go for?

Thank you.

I think the Visonic PowerMAX (plus or pro) is a nice system and it is capable of doing all the things you like (with the X10 extension and/or RFXCOM visonic receiver). I installed the system myself and it works pretty well. However I do not think if you'll get all the things you want for 300 euro. I don't have any experience with another system, but the standard X10 systems like the Marmitek SC9000 look a little bit less professional to me.

Hi both, PieterPaul is right SC9000 is less professional than Visonic , but price is ok for 300 target and it works! I have a sc9000 since 2 years. Sometimes i had some problems with some door/windows sensor (ms90) but i'm sure the were from the same production batch so if one doesn't work may be others too... i replaced by warranty and everything is perfect now. My is a big one system , many doors windows , ir sensors , smoke sensors but all work.
Cheers , lorenzo

Hi Chak,

Don't you have a problem with the voltage and the telephone line when you buy a Powermax in England?
