Intel ATOM 330 Dual Core 1.6 Mini-PC
Looks very nice!
Do you know what the speed of the PCIe slot is?
I'm searching for a system that is faster than x1 because of the SATA RAID controller I want to use as a base for a NAS.
Regards,
Ron
EDIT: Ok, see that it has PCI only, why? Thats old fashioned!#L:@

Nice setup!
Why do you put the Raptor in? It makes a lot of noise and heat. Certanly not a way to save energy.
You might be better off with 128 intel SSD or a Western Digital 'green' disk. THey spin down to save energy when the throughput is enough.
I've got a few in my NAS and they work fine.
Expect also small dualcore Atom "nettop" systems from Asus soon.

What's the estimated power usage?

I was struggling with that part!
For the bwired website I need some power, a lot of queries are fired on the database and I get a lot of users.
A Western Digital Green Disk is way to low for good performance, I have them in my NAS and for that it's fine.
SSD drive might do the trick, but then i have to get a good one.
Thinking again

I think that the ssd will save about +/- 8 watt extra..savings per year +/- 15 euro
128 GB SSD +/-400 euro
128 GB SSD +/-400 euro

you can also place the pictures of bwired itself on your domoticaforum hoster, since (correct me if i'am wrong) your hosting bwired from home, and the forum from a hosting company. So if you would place the pictures on the hoster, it would allready save you extra traffic and disk query's at home..

No its not the same, my system has the new Atom 330 dual core 1.6Ghz CPU instead of the 270 which has a single core etc.
So this one should be faster but consume some more energy.
