Hi Chak, what do you think about this USB-lan adapter with a CM19E usb device? I have purchased it to controll my ninja cams base but it's plugged (usb) in HS server that is far from cams base and the RF signal doesn't reach them!

I have tested some other devices all is working well
Belkin has build good drivers.
I think it will work..but for 100% you have to test it self..

The most crazy USB device with the highest security did work fine.

I ordered one today at Komplett.nl since 4launch could not deliver. I hope to get it next week (they have 50+ in stock) and will try to get a usb to rs232 device installed together with a CM11.

Let see what happens.

Pieter,

To answer your first question: Yes. The ICYBOX looks interesting but I think with these kind of products it is very important to find somebody who has tested it and got it working. If the tester is a reliable source like Enver, it's a done deal :)

I am still curious to find out if I can run the RS232 to USB via the network, it would solve a lot of problems.

@Francois:

I have tested it with the PMIX35.
I have set the drivers anywhere between 2400 and 19200 baud, it did make a small difference but it al worked after a while.
Still it was not as rock solid as I want for my system, this combined with the Belkin driver/program not running as a service, left it on the shelf. (Well it found a new fan) :-)

I also have to add that I used it on a Windows Server 2008 to get around the missing USB functianality in their Hyper-V system.

Today I ordered the IcyBox IB-LAN104 at www.komplett.nl
http://www.komplett.nl/k/ki.aspx?sku=391086
So now I can test it and tell you all if all my USB devices can be controlled over LAN.
To be continued

20:00 Installed the Belkin Network USB Hub
20:01 Installed the software, installation is simple, just like Enver said.
20:02 Hooked up my DigiBee+ USB interface in the "meterkast"
20:03 Fired up my homebrew VB interface
20:04 Works like a charm! ---> SO FAR THIS IS A GREAT DEVICE, Thanks for the tip.

Sounds good..:)
I have installed my Plugwise software on the Homeseer machine.
USB connection was there but did not work..because of some driver problem (FTDI)
After upgrading the FTDI driver Plugwise is working fine.

There is also another nice option in the Belkin control software.
You can launch the correct application after the correct USB dongle is connected.
In my case the PlugwisePC.exe will be started

This option can also be used for auto starting the Homeseer if the PMIX35 or the CMXX is connected.

Cool that autostart function, I'll give it a try. I was/am a bit worried what will happen in case of an unexpected power down. This might be the solution:
- Restart of the OS
- Belkin software starts automatically (load when os starts)
- if the device are connected it will launch HomeSeer, the DigiBee interface and the Touch screen interface.
