To be honest I was with my family this weekend, so I was busy with something else...[^]

i tested it out with a old bluetooth receiver, but the range was really hard to detect.. take a iphone for instance, it normally doesn't show.. and with hcitool to get "range" you first needed to connect..

Well..most of the things I build just because I have the hardware laying around, often it's of no use at all [:o)]

The rfcomm connect part is a bit weird, I have to find a way to automatically connect from within my program (you have to accept it ones on your phone), but after that you need to setup the serial connect every time, setting it to 'bind yes' in rfcomm.conf doesn't work all the time.
I have also used 'hcitool scan' to see if a device is around (without need for connect), but then you get no field strength.

iphones are drained quickly anyway.. in my case i can also say "if connected to wifi" but it only connects again when i turn it on.. but hey, there are more ways to rome then 1.. i had a little shell script that said "i'am far away" "i'am close" and "i'am away"

To see how busy my DomotiGa server is I have build the ServerStats module.
So load avg. and memory usage is monitored.

It's certainly busy at some times, but not overloaded..
Hardware is an Asus eeebox running Ubuntu 8.04.1
But I also occasionally internet browse and/or edit pictures with gimp on it.

Regard,
Ron.

Been strugling to get it running on Ubuntu 8.10 but couldn't get it running stable yet. Going back to 8.04.
Have build better device handling, it now only stores values in the database if those are different than old values, saves a lot of system resources.
Also made a setting on every device so you can choose if you want to see device status changes in the logs or not...
Weeder support is working and build ITHO fan device support, so I can control my ventilation.
Still trying to get first version released soon, have a feature stop at the moment... hold on a bit...

Intro...

Hello,
I read about your project on the automated home website. I'm very interested and would like to help / use / develop if possible.
I would like to see if I could integrate xPL (I currently use this as my main interconnect layer) into DomotiGa.
Ive started to play around with Gambas and already ported some of my xPL code to it sucessfully.
Is it possible to have access to the source (read only or a snapshot) sometime so I could start having a look?

Regards
Peter

Hello

Will DomotiGa support all 1-wire sensors from Hobby-board natively via USB/Serial interface ? IT will be very nice: T°, humidity, Rain, wind, counter....

Thank you

I think, when he will release it , it will also be on the automated home webpage.. we are all eager to see it. But like any good coder knows, rushing is a bad practice..
