Hi all,

For those of use having a Sonos multiroom music system and an Iphone or Ipod Touch: Sonos offers a free application through the app store that basically turns your Iphone/Ipod into a Sonos controller. But this one is cheaper, smaller, has a touchscreen, and more importantly, is always in your pocket. It works very well!

To be able to use it, you must upgrade your Sonos equipment to firmware version 2.7. Another interesting feature of version 2.7: integration with last.fm (see online what you've played on your Sonos and what other music might fit your taste).

Hi Nielsy,

Controlling Sonos devices from Homeseer has been possible for quite some time :-). See these two options:

http://forums.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=123477

And for a generic way to control Sonos devices, including adding music to the queue, use the Perl based Sonosweb. It acts as a webserver and you can control your Sonos system through simple http request with commands such as Play, Mute, etc. If a pronto/creston/amx/your device of choice is able to open URLs, there's no limit to what you can do...
