Outside usa getting the kill-a-watts is not easy and the final solution is not very accurate, volts and amps, you then need to do the calculations yourself which is not so good at a 'slow' scan rate. Nevertheless, for playing, learning zigbee and as a hobby electronics project it is a great example.
Uk chaps, can't really use the Plugwise, which looks really neat.
Another, nice unit is the PLUGG one, I bit expensive at 55 and min. 4 units for zigbee

I am tempted to buy an evaluation unit as it looks like a nice piece of engineering and quite 'open' as well.

they use clamps I believe so no problem with belgian/dutch plugs?
