Plugwise Source Server

Post by Radu »

Hello everybody

I use some perl scripts in order to get data from the Source Web Server. I noticed sometimes in the Plugwise Sttings/Program that the webserver is Stopped (it shouldn't), I have to restart it manually. Did you notice this kind of irregular behaviour ? The source software is on a dedicated Windows machine.

Thank you and regards, Radu

I'm running the webinterface for long time 24h a day..never had this problem.
You can export the settings of the plugwise and tray to reinstalling on another machine.

I thought you meant the webinterface (PlugwiseServer.exe) version :-)

Radu uses the Source software (not the server itself) which in turn starts automatically the webserver. I chose that because otherwise I canot start the server itself at boottime. I wonder if the server itself has a logfile or something like that ;-)

PlugwiseServer.exe is only the webserver, you can poll this webserver and get the same information as with the source, the source has also a GUI for graphs and direct info.
It's also very lean and mean regarding taking resources from your computer (less memory ect).

I heard that the dedicated PlugwiseServer.exe have some little bugs.
I hope they fix this in the next update.

I'm looking into the webserver features. As far as i can see it is only possible to request the current poweruasage and /or the total power usage. In the source application it is possible to view historical information per appliance / group etc. Does anybody know if it is also possible to request this "historical" information from the webserver application?

It's not possible. This is one of the requests I dropped at Plugwise when I visited them some weeks ago.
