I have an traditional doorbell, and I wamt to keep that, with a button outside, trafo, and a gong. I want to know when the button is pressed, how can I do that, if possible with an ds10a to put the wires that orignall on the screws on the relais, directly on the bell button parallel on the other?
Or are there other options?

Better alternative is the SM10
or simple Kaku doorbell if your have Rfxcom
other options are Visonic products like MCT100..more complex

I've taken a KAKU AMST-606 door sensor apart and modifying it to trigger when my doorbell is rung. It's not 100% reliable yet but once I got it to work I'll put it on the forum. The good thing about the KAKU is that it's cheap (EU 12).

I also used the SM10, keeping my existing doorbell, button and trafo. When the doorbell is pressed an X10 signal is send out. Works pretty good.

Warning for sm10!
The spec's are not correct.
under " 9 volt's ac" its not working correct.
Symptoms: after activating sm10 the cm11 is not responding anymore.

I use an Xanura SAX35 for this, you can directly connect it to your standard gong/trafo wiring, has an extra input (for maybe doorcontact) and switch something with it too... bit expensive but does the job right.

I use the KAKU doorbell. Just put a 12V AC relais between the normal trafo driven doorbell and the KAKU unit.
So far worked 100%

I use a PSC01 (US version of the SM10) that I modified to 220V. Works perfectly with the 8V doorbell-transformer.

@glabbeek
Where did you get the relais on ac?? My local store doesn't have it.
And is the power ok, mostly the trafo's are 8v?? or 8-12v?
