Don't think it looks big in my room :-)
It's also a neat fit in Roberts room. I got a smaller screen in the bedroom (10") and I have a hard time getting all function within easy reach.
The " touch" of the TOP is also one of the bst I have had.

@Robert, thanks I will have a look when I get my second TOP.

Bastiaan, i can confirm that, the Asus has a really good "touch".
And for me, this Asus doesn't feel or look to big. I think the number of people watching an over sized TV is bigger than those having an over sized touch screen. Just to give an additional impression on the 'presence' of the touch in the living room (the TV is 80 cm):

Enver,
You're right, it's the standard XP screen saver pointing to my photo library. However i think I'll disable that, cause it's to distracting. But, it also made me wonder how 'interesting' the TV really is :-)

I've been playing around with floor plans this weekend to give my Domotica UI a more intuitive look then JBOB (just a bunch of buttons [:)]).

Image

I started with creating a floor plan by using www.floorplanner.com, and use a resulting PNG as background for a form. Next i created a custom control with toggle functionality/appearance and added controls to the form to show all the lights on the first floor that can be controlled.

Additionaly i added a few labels to show the current temperatures.

This last action made me wonder how to keep the form 'clean'. Maybe i'll have to work with 'information layers' that can be enabled/disabled; as in a temperature layer, humidity layer, motion layer, powerstate layer and so on. Since displaying it all at once will probably create a large amount of information on 1 screen. Well, we'll see how it evolves...

still looks good enough to me.. you can always just use a smaller font for temperature for instance.. or make a room "clickable" that it will show you more information, then you can still leave it "clean"

How do you think the asus would handle being built IN to the wall? Would you need a lot of ventilation holes?

Nice resolution for this device! (what I found: 1366x768), the bad: close to 600 ;-(

Thanks

After 6 months designing with HST
My conclusion you don't need more than 600..
