Enery meter : Actaris ACE300 optical readout
Re: Enery meter : Actaris ACE300 optical readout
Today I receive my Itron ACE3000 (Actaris) meter from Enexis, needed for my solarpanels.
Before sealing the meter by the engineer I connected a wire to the SO output (pulse).
The meter is telling that it has 1000 pulses a kWh.
So I connected the rfxpulse counter to the SO bus and directly started counting pulses
after a while I discoverd that the pulses where counted way to slow.
tuning the rfxpulse did not help...
after a while I found this foreign document telling me that on the SO bus there is 500 pulses every kWh
Working fine and very precise now!

Re: Enery meter : Actaris ACE3000 optical readout
I installed the IR optical interface today on my Actaris Ace3000 (called Itron now) and the only reading I get is FF for every pulse!nmarci wrote:I found some instructions about how to install Actaris ACE3000. The language of the instructions is Hungarian, here is the translation:
Chapter 2.1.3: Optical interface
The device has an interface according to EN62056-21 mode C. Using this interface the following data can be read out. For example using Laptop+optical device+Windows hyperterminal
The protocol to be used: 7 data bits, even parity, 1 stop bit, speed: 300 baud.Code: Select all
OBIS code Value Example F.F Error code F.F. (00) C.1 Measurement unit ID (serial number) C.1(12345678 ) 1.8.1 Energy sum in tarif 1 1.8.1(00015,10*kWh) 1.8.0 Sum of consumed energy 1.8.0(00012,10*kWh) 2.8.0 Sum of exported energy 2.8.0(00003,00*kWh) C.5.0 Status C.5.0(02)
optical-probe.de/Optical%20probes/produ ... oduct.html
So i dont get any counters in text over the IR interface.
Could mean 2 things:
The Actaris only gives the pulses over IR (1000 pulses for every kWh, SO bus is 500 pulses per kWh)
Or the Actaris is in Error giving constantly FF code (for every pulse)
Who knows more about this?
Re: Enery meter : Actaris ACE300 optical readout
Update regarding my above posting:
after a lot of digging, mailing, trying, programming and translating manuals.......
If you send "/?!" CR LF to the Itron (Actaris ACE3000) it will send back all the counters!
Works like a charm, now the only problem I have is that my Actaris has no Decimals set to the counters
So I have to ask Enexis to replace my smart meter again.
The decimals can be set as a parameter when configuring the smart meter, once done and active it can not be chnaged.
A resolution of 1 kWh is not very handy on realtime website like http://www.Bwired.nl
But the option to communicate with Itron is awesome.
More details to follow.....

Re: Enery meter : Actaris ACE300 optical readout
Hi Pieter,
You might want to try reading the OBIS 1-0:1.7.0 record. This record represents the actual electricity power delivered in a 1 Watt resolution.
Regards,
Ronald

Thanks Ronald
Do you have some more info on that.
I think im not able to read that of my actaris itron meter?

When reading from the Acteris meter do you end up with a telegram like below?
(The telegram below is borrowed from Verkenner's "Reading the P1 port of a NTA8130 Dutch Smart Meter" discussion (domoticaforum.eu/viewtopic.php?f=16& ... =30#p48269), since reading from the optical port is more or less the same)

Pieter,
You might want to try this tool (meter-test-equipment.com/download/pdf/e ... 07pack.exe) to see if you're able to get a telegram from your Actaris meter.

Hi
Like above
If you send "/?!" CR LF to the Itron (Actaris ACE3000) it will send back all the counters!
but i only receive these:
perhaps there is another command, i dont think so
I think the Itron does not have it, or mine is not setup that way.
i will examine the prog
thanks!

Re: Enery meter : Actaris ACE300 optical readout
The result as expected
The Itron is delivered by Enexis and they configure the itron upfront to not gibe any decimals. Once configured it can not be adjusted again
I need the new smart meter, but Enexis also does not want to install this at Bwired, i need to wait in line, hopefully this year.

Re: Enery meter : Actaris ACE300 optical readout
Well, that's too bad your meter isn't sharing more of its inner thoughts.
Hopefully Enexis can provide you a 'smarter' meter soon.

Re: Enery meter : Actaris ACE300 optical readout
Did someone wrote a HomeSeer script for importing the data and is willing to share this script?

Re: Enery meter : Actaris ACE300 optical readout
i just tried with my optical probe from http://wiki.volkszaehler.org/hardware/c ... b-lesekopf
to connect to the ACE3000 but no go yet to retrieve any data. Any other people did get the readout working using other optical connectors ?
And if so what where the communication settings ?

I own an ISKRA ME 162. If I send the command "/?!" I will get the following back:
/ISk5MT171-0133
without any information about the usage. Is there someone with a script for homeseer that works or any other tips.

Re: Enery meter : Actaris ACE300 optical readout
Command is only for the Iton/Actaris!
Re: Enery meter : Actaris ACE300 optical readout
Bwired, this is correct for the ISKRA MT171.
for the ISKRA MT171 first you need to send "/?!" to retreive the idenfification and program version.
Then an confirmation must be send using the following command ACK 050 CR LF.
After changing the baudrate to 9600 the meter will return the data. As the data is in HEX I have another challenge
