The difference is: it has different (latest) firmware with DHCP enabled.
You can not buy it. You have to compile and burn it by yourself. Of course, sources and manuals are available.
It took 1 week for me. I am an experienced embedded electronics engineer. For normal people it is nearly impossible. Because before one should buy or make a programmer. And story begins again.
Otherwise you will stuck with pre-programmed IP address in a subnet 192.168.0.XXX with no chance if your network is for example 192.168.1.XXX. Moreover, the old firmware has a bug, when it does not connect to Ethernet with some hubs.
So the difference is as between died and alive body: the soul

I have a digibutler in a box still to be build, thought about selling it, but I have waited for months (half year maybe?) to get it delivered because of PCB design/build errors, so I'm kinda attached to it
No idea what to build/realize with it though, any ideas anyone?
Regards,
Ron

For the first, try to use it as a remote (thousands miles) control for your kitchen light. It was designed exactly for this.
