I hope someone can help me:

I have the following devices i want to controle with z-wave (Vera Home Control):

- Philips dolby system (IR)
- Flat tv (IR)
- Windows Vista Media Center (IR)
- Kingpin CES180 4:3 Electronic Project screen (RF 433 Mhz)
- Epson EMP-S42 Beamer (IR)
- Light - Popp Z-Wave Dimmer (Z-wave)

I use Vera Home Control:
I want to make a scene thet will do the following:

- Power on Philips Dolby System
- Power off Flat TV
- Power on Epson EMP-S42 Beamer
- Lower down Kingpin Electronic Project screen (RF 433 Mhz)
- Dimm the lights (This i know how to do it)

I have read a lot of topics about control IR/RF devices. But i am sorry, but i do not understand it perfectly:

- What do i need for the IR control (simple), and how?
- How can i control my Electronic Project screen (RF 433 Mhz)?

I need the EU Z-Wave products.
I don't use HomeSeer

I hope somebody could help me with this.

Thank you

@Maarten,
For 1 click Home Cinema control you need IR sending device end some other domotica devices.
I have also a movie room what is fully automated.

- Screen from Projecta: Up/Down via Popp zwave screen control.
- Lights via DAIX12
- Harison curtains control via Rfxcom
- Subwoofer on/off plugwise
- Beamer control via Irtrans
- Hifi control via Irtrans.
Full control via HSTouch (Homeseer) Iphone, Albatron (Pronto in the past)

At the moment there is no support in the VERA for IR controlling devices. I hope they will support Irtrans

Best option for you will be the Harmony Remote like 895 or the 1100
Harmony Two is better choice..but at the moment not available.

Harmony 895 can also control zwave devices...my attempt in the past did not success because of the slave mode only support in the Harmony.

The beta of the new Vera engine has LUUP files for GC-100

http://www.globalcache.com/products/gc-models.html

So IR shold be possible soon.

I think they aim at release before september.

Vera should have a support for the GC-100. Its in the roadmap from MiCasaVerde (February/March, 2009)

I don't think you should take Micasaverde schedules to serious.

Problems with errors in the USB stick, has delayed them a couple of months, and now it is rewriting of the engine.

GC-100 is in the beta, and it has become quite stable, so maybe it is possible to make a stable system with it.

I got a message from micasaverde that it works and it's stable.

P.s. They are rewriting not (only) because of problems with the stick (that is already been solved) but because of the LUUP engine what will enhance the possibilaties of the system.

Micasaverde had a never ending pool of small problems.

I think that made the rewriting more urgent. :-)

I have had my Vera for a while, and it is not stable enough for me.

I hope it will be.

For now it is still my Innovus House Control that controls my Z-Wave.

Yes.

Unfortunately they are out of business. :-( (There investor disappeared when stock went down.)

Some of them have started QEES after the bankruptcy.

I thought Vera should be my next master. But I begin to doubt.

So now I hope for the QEES master, when it comes.

Or maybe the NorthQ if they make a descent box. (The NorhtQ guy is on our Danish forum, so we can nag him, if it is no good. :-) )

I relay like my Innovus stuff. So hopefully QEES can make good products.

A couple of links:

http://www.qees.eu/

http://www.northq.com/products/zwave/nq900.html

But I don't expect to see any of them on the market for a while.

QEES will have QEES ring and QEES Power on the market soon. But we have to wait for the Master.

What i understand from the Qees stuff, it is not open source. it will only allow hardware from Qees Tech.

correct me if i am wrong

I haven't seen any of it yet. But I would be surprised if it was "hardware closed".

The firmware will properly not be open source, but there should be a LUA interface for your own programs.

My Innovus stuff (made by mostly the same people) works with a lot of Z-Wave devices. (You can see the combinations, we have tested i our Danish device list.)

The only proprietary feature, I have met in House Control, is a way to handle remote controls from Innovus.

House Control has a XML interface, witch I made a couple of programs for.

Innovus devices are, in my experience, some of the most "standard keeping." So that will be, what I expect from QEES to.

EZhome already has it listed in his webshop with 1 to 2 weeks lead time. Maybe he can shine a light on some of your questions. (He's regularly active here on the forum as well)

I don't think we will get a QEES master within 2 weeks.

The ring and the power should be on the market within 2 weeks.

The Wall http://www.homee.dk/index.php/da/produk ... uct_id=105 should be here in a month. (But that may only be interesting to Danes because of our FUGA problem.)

But when I talked to QEES at the savingtrust conference 28/5, they did not have the hardware for the master themselves. So I think it will be a while, before we get to try the master.

I visited Qees recently, the boardmembers are the same as the Innovus ones so it's exactly the same company.
They updated the Innovus products and added some new like the Qees Master.
This one will be available in about 4/5 weeks. I already worked with it and it has a nice flash UI onboard.

Micasaverde doesn't sell any other products then their Vera and they will workout anything to support other products like Insteon and X10 in the new firmware.
