I have searched the internet, but I can't find the answer to my question:
For my new home I plan on using the PLCBUS system:
- fast
- wired (I don't trust wireless)
- status reading possible
- micromodules possible
- dimming possible
I plan on using micromodules of type PLCBUS-2264D behind a Jung 534-4
U momentary 2-way switch http://www.jung-catalogus.nl/content.ht ... rt=0&suche.
Problem is I want to know if I can:
- dim the light with the switch
- send a command to the server to know the light is dimmed
Elekhomica says: on/off possible, dimming not with the switch
http://www.elekhomica.nl/product_info.p ... cts_id=752
Automation@home says: local dimming possible http://x10-hk.com/store/product_info.ph ... cts_id=192
But if i look at the wiring diagram http://x10-hk.com/store/manual/plcbus/w ... 64d-ld.pdf
I see only 3 instead of 4 or 5 wires. Or if i look at the simpler 1-switch 2263D module http://x10-hk.com/store/manual/plcbus/w ... 63d-ld.pdf I see just 2 wires to the switch. So how does the switch tell the module to dim+ or dim- with just 2 wires.
Does anyone have this 2264 or 2263 module and tell me please if it supports local dimming and if so, does it work to your satisfaction?

sorry can't remember precise.. i thaught it sets your lamp to the last programmed dim level.
What i do remember is that my relgular switch did not fit the box any more.
I did fix it with a old kaku switch wich was laying arround here.
Something else you got to take notice of, is the flashing.
Have a look at the flashing topic, so i guess i am not sadisfied.
Shame as all those other plugin plc stuff works fine and did not flash ever..!
Yeah buy a filter is the standard answer they give you...

This is he best wire diagram I found. I it in German, but it looks very professional.
I can read a little German. Yon need Variante 2. This is with double momentary switch like the Jung switches you want use.

PLCBUS-2264D: Local dimming yes or no and how?
I just tested a PLCBUS-2264D. Connected each of the wires of the micromodule to my switch. I'm not satisfied. Turns out two of the wires are meant for normal switches (Red/BLue). The other two wires are meant for momentary switches (Yellow/Green). I can switch and dim the light with only one momentary switch:
- press short: go to 100% or 0%
- press and hold 5 seconds + short length: dim+ or dim- starts after 5 seconds
This is not what i had in mind. I want to use the upper half of the swith to go to 100% (if pressed <0,5 seconds) or brighter (if >0,5 seconds). Same for lower half of switch with 0% and dim.
I tried changing the mode to no avail. Any other ideas? Do the marmitek/xanura micromodules satisfy my requirements?
