ERROR: Appliance XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX is unknown

I tried to move a working install from one HS install directory to another new one, in order to keep my historic graphs. I copied all the files associated with the plugin + the chart files. I had no devices created but after enabling the plugin it created them.

It all seems to be working however now I have a log message on every access to the Plugwise webserver...

01/10/2009 12:40:39 - Plugwise - ERROR: Appliance XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX is unknown.

Can I correct this somehow ? I am not sure which device causes this as I have the same 15 devices in the Plugwise Source application, HS Devices and showing in charts.

This message is caused because the special device to count the total usage is enabled in the configuration file while this special device is only created when this option is enabled. Because you copied the configuration from another system, this special device has not been created. Try unchecking this option in the configuration, then apply the configuration, enable the option again and then you should have the special device created in Homeseer and the error message should not occur any longer.

I have another problem... My devices were originally named in Plugwise but I have changed them since I introduced them into HS. Some have swapped around. The devices show the correct names in Plugwise Source but the wrong names in HS (after having copied files from an older install). So I tried renaming them in HS but they revert back to their original (incorrect) name. I guess this is coming from the DB.

Although I would like to keep my historic data is it really best to start afresh and relearn them ? To do this do I just delete the DB ?

If I later move and rename a Plugwise device will it rename in HS automatically ?

This is a bug in the plugin. It will be fixed in the next release. However, due to other priorities this will not be within a few weeks. When you disable the plugin and open the database of the plugin with MS Access, you can change the name of the devices yourself.
