I have 1 and this one is working fine.
Withings also created a API for using the data on your own site or dbase

I have one too and we use it everyday. Though we didn't bother to set up our own database for it. It's pretty cool to see your progress on the iPhone. And it's amazing how long it lasts on just a couple of AAA batteries.

Support is good too: Questions are answered by a very knowledgable staff almost immediately.

In our home it's time to get a new scale; so time to integrate it into rest of the world.

Found this topic and a way to connect it to my home system without notifications api
(see: http://www.prolixium.com/mynews?id=915 )

So with the Oregon scales not available anymore what are my options:

- Withings - cons: eats batteries / more expensive
- YouW8 - cons: separate wired connection / doesn't look as fancy as the withings scale / no routing redirection solution found to intercept the scales information.

Anyone additional options?

Kind regards,

Bas

The new Withings WS-50 uses the same clear-text protocol (how bad to send those private details over the Internet, but good for us as that way we can steal the data) as the older models. As such, you can use this new model through the hijacking setup as described on the above mentioned Prolixium site. Enjoy!
