Does anyone know of any studies that measure the potential for demand response contributing from home automation devices, i.e. Home Energy Management, In-Home Displays, etc.

What I do know is that the firm plugwise gathers the power usage data from their registered hardware users ("anonimously") and that they might have thoughts about usage for Demand response improvements. Hope this is of any help to you.

We have been asked by a southwest utility in the US to evaluate the potential for demand response from home automation equipment (home energy management systems, in-home energy devices, etc. But at this juncture, they only want an evaluation based on secondary research - hence my request.
