AV ampifier with webserver
I am thinking of bying a new AV amplifier for my soundsystem. It needs to be surround and can switch HDMI. It also has to be controlled with a webserver. (like the DM8000 satelite receiver)
I had a look at the Yamaha RXZ7BL, but it has a high price.
The webserver is for easy controlling with Homeseer.
Any other sugestions?

Denon 3310,3908,3910,4308,4310 and almost all Onky models can be controlled from Homeseer
For the Onky low end models with serial interface from 807 there is Ethernet available.
For both there are Homeseer plugins available.

Yamaha has cheaper series that support RS232 (V1900, V2065 & V3900). The last two have web access as well.

Interesting topic.
My current HT set (DVD player & radio) has to be replaced cause i can't fully control it remote, for example no discrete codes for selecting tuner presets and some other bad habits/lack of functions, enough reason for me to look for something new.

Is there something (ready to use) to command YAMAHA with Homeseer?

I'm using the Arcam AVR600 which can be fully controlled by RS232. I'm still looking for a simple way to integrate it in Homeseer as there is no homemade plugin for Arcam receivers.
But you can control almost every setting:

Very interesting topic indeed! Would there be any AV receiver supporting "picture-<u>and</u>-picture" (PAP) for any input source out there?
And cherry on the cake would be a custom overlay to be pushed on any source. Although "picture-<u>in</u>-picture" (PIP) would do just fine as well

Just check out http://www.usa.denon.com/ProductDetails ... oducts.asp multiple models with ethernet (and plugin homeseer)
Then i would go for the 4310, but its still 1800 euro's... (http://www.redcoon.nl/index.php/cmd/sho ... ieskeurig/)
But this model has also "dlna" which in my eyes is a nice added feature.. dont know if it will work out that great, but why not. Have to save up for this one.. hehe.

I did the same search before... I ended up with the conclusion it's easier to build a HTPC and create a simple attach to an amplifier with RS232 communication (The amplifier just needs on/off)
I just build the following HTPC
case: Psile (www.psile.com)
Motherboard: Point of View Ion 330 (com ports onboard etc)
Audiocard: Asus Xonar Essence (to come)
Screen: Mimo 720S
I used a heatsink instead of the fan; SSD instead of regular ones and therefore reduced irritating sound production....
So the only thing my receiver needs to do is to produce the analog sound (there are no better DAC's then the Xonar uses for the price) Off course you can also use the HDMI (with digital sound, the receiver will do the DAC thing etc and there is no need for the Xonar).
In the end I am more flexible (using the HTPC) and most important for me I have the best sound ever...
Remember I just wanted to give you an out-of-the-box direction [;)]
Final note look for cambridge audio/NAD for inspiration they have several set-ups in their line up

Re: AV ampifier with webserver
I have a new AV amplifier now.
It is the AVR-3310.
I have also a dreambox satellite receiver. I can control it with HTML codes like:
http:// ipadress /web/powerstate?
It will return with e2instandby>true or e2instandby>false
Can I do something similar with the AVR-3310?
