DomotiGa Live DVD

I have just finished building a DomotiGa Live DVD, with that you can boot your PC and have a sniff at Gambas 2.18.0, Domotiga 0.1.176 and Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" without installing anything.

It doesn't change anything on your PC, unless you choose to install it, which is also possible.

You can also use it as a toolkit, to test your home automation hardware for example.
It's the first version, so any feedback is appreciated.

You can find it here: Download

Hi.

As free user I can only download one file a day.

I can download another now. So it must be something about some hours.

I look forward to the alternative. :-)

Why not a torrent? If I got the files, I'll keep seeding it. If just a couple of people do, you're golden.

Hi.

I now have it running, and can add a Innovus SmartDimmer to your tested Z-Wave devices. :-) (Not meter reading, but control.)

It is not much fun to know, that I loose all my settings, when I play with it.

So I would like to install it in Virtual PC 2007.

When I click Install RELEASE it wants a password.

How do I install it?

Regards
Morten

The password is "domotiga". Without the quotes. I shall document that better.

The meter reading of your Z-Wave smartdimmer should work too, you should see it in the debug log, it is not yet saved as a device value.

I've been trying to download the file's for two days now.

I've got 1 and 2 over the last 2 days, but now I'm getting a "This file can only be downloaded by becoming a Premium member"

Grrrrrr....

@Noel: This happens very often on rapidshare, especially during peak hours. Just keep reloading the link every 4 or 5 mins and eventually you'll get through. You don't need to become a premium member as they mention that is just marketing bs. But it sure is annoying as hell  hehe

Good luck

@Noel: If it still doesn't work, I could upload it to you via ftp or msn or dropbox or something....

Has anyone tried to boot of this image in VMWare Server? (running on Windows)

What are the memory/disk requirements for this iso?

Thank you!
DJ

It should have the same requirements as Ubuntu 9.10, maybe a little bit more for Gambas.
Min. requirements for Ubuntu are 256MB memory, and I think the min disk size is 2GB.

I have tried it on Virtuel PC 2007.

I allowed it 1 gb ram and default disk. I don't know, what it need.

But I had other problems.

Display size was 800 x 600, I could not find out what to do with that.

And my Z-Wave stick didn't work. I guess it was a dubble driver problem.

So I am running it on an old labtop now.

Morten

I have uploaded version 2 of the Live DVD image to a Google Project download section.
In this version I only removed old kernel packages.
It's not tested yet, so feedback is welcome.

We will see what happens if I request bigger download quota when I need it.
I guess I cannot delete old versions any more if they have been downloaded.

You can find it on the Downloads tab here: http://code.google.com/p/domotiga-livecd/
