Still not sure if it's a bad choice though (for me at least)...

It plays almost anything you throw at it.
The price is acceptable for me (the C200 isn't cheap too).
Slow photo load, there are USB ports on the side of my tv.
You don't need a GBit network to play HD content, that would only be a drawback if you want to copy your data to the harddrive of the Dune, and I have a NAS.
The fact that it doesn't have youtube, flickr etc support is a plus for me, since they focus on playing movies in the first place...
The only thing that worries me is the drive noise, have no idea if this is (still) a problem with all units shipped.

It's either this or a Linux XBMC ION system, not much other alternatives...

Ron, I would go for the last option. I.m.o. there is no other solution that beats the flexibility and quality of XBMC. You can install softsqueeze (or other soft player for squeezebox) on it to.

There is one major drawback, Linux doesn't support Blu-Ray decoding yet, so XBMC for Linux lacks it too...
But I have decided to reinstall my ASRock ION with the latest release of XBMC Live and use that until something happens on the mediaplayer front.
Gonna visit the Cebit next Thursday and Friday so maybe I bump into something (wishful thinking)
