Lightplan for Led spots

Hi,
I hope this is the right topic, please move this topic if it isn't correct (otherwise I have to type it all over again).
In my new house I want to install 3 sets of led spots. I want my spots to be able to dim but I can“t figure out which to choose.
Option 1.
Use 230V spots using GU10 fitting. Z-wave Dimmer to controll the lights
pros: cheap lightning fitting. Easy to install.
cons: expensive leds, using 10 cm of height to install, lights can flicker on lowest lever dimmer ??
Option 2.
Use 12V spots using MR16 fitting. X10 pulse switch dimmer.
pros: cheap(er), less installation height
cons: x10... more work to install, powerline noise, device limitations, one way communication. My electronics friend told me 12V wil be phased out soon.
I won't ask you which one will be the best.. but what I like to know is..
Option 2 seems a better option for me. It will cost me about 30 euro per spot. The dimmer + trafo are a bit more expensive and I have no clue which product I do have to order.
Besides, I definetely want to see the difference between these LEDs vs Halogen lights. Are there any pulse switches using z-wave or another protocol?
I want these lights to be able to configure them by RC, Touchscreen or Phone App. so the reading the status is very appreciated..
Am I making the right choise?
Thanks, Gr. Martijn.
