Conrad FS20 - who has tested this system?

Hi!

Who has tested the Conrad FS20 system?
-Is it Conrad or an OEM? (if OEM, who is the manufact.?)
-How's the software for PC control?
-How does the 800Mhz transmission work? (range in-house)

Prices seem to be ok, there's quite a lot of different modules. Just don't know anything about the PC control side/software.

I have installed it, works perfect !!!!!

868 Mhz is the future, so I am surprised nobody discussed it on this forum. In my opinion it is very stable, always responsive and never ghost activities. Also very nice is that you can set the 20% of light dimming remotely, other wireless systems can not repeat the same level of dim consistently.

Z-Wave/Klick-on-klick-off is the less professional alternative at 433 Mhz.

A wide range of address allocation (Avoid that neighbors switch on your light with their FS20 equipment).

Beside light switches it can control temperatures, lot's of other censors and control motion (elec. motors). There even starting developing audio-devices based on FS20.

I have an apartment with 7 light zones and 2 heat zones, and just ordered all hardware for a DIY central processing unit based on a old Linux laptop. (Geek) Plenty of Open source software on the net, and simple to create your own customized solution.

Looking for automatic sun-screen control in the future.

Friend at work, also installed all kinds of conrad stuff and is also very pleased about it.. we do want homeseer support.

The Z-Wave Radio uses the 900 MHz ISM band: 908.42MHz (United States); 868.42MHz (Europe); 919.82MHz (Hong Kong); 921.42MHz (Australia/New Zealand).

Sorry, my mistake. So european Z-Wave is the same frequence as FS20..

Anyhow, I am more then sathified with it, but Windows Open source is poor (at the moment).
Linux software is all availible, with web interfaces...

FS20 looks good!

Found a FS20 controller on the internet:

It converts IR to RF, and has a built in web server for remote control.. Pretty cheap solution..

How do you control fs20 with linux?

I have this solution (FS20 + Lichtmanager pro) installed and it works like a charm. Very cheap, very easy to install and support from manufacture (Jochen) is very good.
The cool thing is you can now intergrate FS20 cheaply into your HA system e.g. with irtrans since RFXcom doesnt support the FS20 protocol.

The master thing is the FS20 dimmers since they can directly dim from 0% to e.g. 80% on execution which no other device (which i found) can do.

As i understood FS20 is made / designed by ELV Gmbh in Germany elv.de/FS20-Funkschaltsystem/x.aspx/cid ... tail2_1712

I'm thinking this as well. ELV is often cheaper then Conrad on devices as well. Slightly hinting towards who's supplying who

I must say I'm fairly satisfied by how it's working. I'm having some range issues though in a 10y old house. Lots of concrete in my house and probably computer interference, I'm having issues reaching the switches 2 floors down. I have to work out those details.

Anyway, I've posted a bit in the Linux Forums as I've started of with FHEM. (DomotiGa doesn't work with FS20 _yet_).
FHEM takes a bit of practice, but it's fun.

Two have already been ordered; FS20 RPT-2.
I'm going to put up one per floor so I know for sure I'll have enough reach within the house. The problem isn't the reception btw, it's purely transmit. The remote I have downstairs doesn't seem to have this issue as it seems. When I use the remote to send commands the fhz1000pc receives them clearly.

Seen the possibilities of using the fhz1000pc, I'm thinking of selling the device and switching to a www.busware.de CUL device. forums-member Kroonen has some very good experiences with that.
Next up is working down the to-do list of the wife, if that's done it's FHT80b time
