Hi.

Now it is possible to see the planned QEES products.

The Wall/Socket products should come in both Danish and EU formats.

Morten

I have not been able to get an expected release date for the sockets.

I guess that means, it will be a while. :-)

Finn (zwaves.dk admin) and I paid QEES a visit today.
Most of these products should be available around October.
The first ones will be in August.
QEES will show them at Smart Homes 2010 in Vienna 22-24/9.

I am very interested. Just hoping that the price setting won't be to much of a bankruptcy enhancer.

The prices should be a bit lower than now.
And they plan "startup" boxes with discount.

Do you know if the battery powered switches will be homeseer compatible?

Not exactly. But they should stick to standard, with some extra proprietary functions added.
So I guess, they will work with Homeseer.

Emailed the guys at Qees about compatibility of their new battery operated modules (qees wall 66 in specific) with homeseer...

Got good News back from Qees:
As we read your email, the problem described (‘device not staying active’) is a Z-Wave protocol issue in the chip, which we cannot really do anything about. It has nothing to do with the battery and, therefore, 12V DC power connection is not solving it.

The new Wall Switch 66 would not have this problem, as we are equipping it (and all the other new products) with the latest chip from SigmaDesign/Z-Wave Alliance; the specific issue is solved in its coding.

However, it might be worth mentioning that with our new SmartGate, integration with QEES devices will be completely seamless and QEES devices will automatically be detected by the SmartGate. This would not be the case with 3rd Party Z-Wave devices, which would have to be ‘added’ in the same way you add the Wall Switch to the HomeSeer.
Have installed 12v points around my house in preparation of these switches :D

Great info thanks,
I just saw that they changed the design of the wall plugs  , I preferred the old design with a led 'ring' around the outlet. But still, I can't wait to try a couple of these puppies out!

Yeah old ones looked better... but as long as they function properly I am more than a happy camper :-)
Products will be launched Q4 of this year. (Got an E-mail back from Qees Sales manager who confirmed this)

The planned products indeed look nice. My biggest problem with the entire home automation products is that you cannot mix the various modules unless you are willing to live in a house with a mishmash of styles. Perhaps this is a little bit off topic here, but I wonder how the other members of this board do think about this?

I completely agree with you on that one. I'm just starting out with replacing my regular switches and AC outlets with Duwi. I really like these products of Quees but a little bit reluctant buying them because of the big mismatch of different styles in my house. I'll guess I just have to wait and see if they could fit together without a to big of a (visual) difference.

The pricing of some of the new Qees products is already available, the rest will be available by the end of September.
