Starting in home automation and discovered the card IPX-800 from GCE I want to know if anyone knows this and is it a good investment to get started in home automation.

What is the most flexible platform for a project automation.

Linux ?

For OS to choose depends on your experience, most stuff is available for Linux and Windows.

It will be a good product (for you) if you can use it with existing Home Automation software products or if you can create your own software to do so.
Otherwise it's nothing more than a nice product, ending up on a shelf somewhere...

sorry for resuming this old post. I would inform that freedomotic project supports this board with a specific plugin.

We need some testers to extend the plugin including sensors read values.
