New (first EU) Z-Wave Room Thermostat

Post by EzHome »

The first Room Thermostat which can be controlled by a domestic z-wave controller is coming, it will be available before the end of this year.

The system is a control-unit for your kettle and there is a unit for your main-room, the units will be sold separate so you can also use other temperature-sensors.

The kettle-unit is a simple on/off unit which tells your kettle to turn on or off, nothing more and nothing less. Because of this, this unit will be an affordable unit with an expected price € 70,=

Hmmm interesting. So the kettle unit is nothing more than a relay switch right?
Could use that for many more things

I'm exploring the world of domotica for my new home and I'm thinking about scenario's for domotica, especially the combination of motion sensing and thermostat.

Would it be possible to program the follow scene in a system like Vera2:

If motion sensor doesn't detect someone between 5-6 AM in the bedroom, the regular heating program doesn't have to activate the comfort temperature (I.e. 20 dgr. C.) and can stay in stanby temperature (i.e. 15 dgr. C.).

And evening program's like:

Regular program go from standby temperature to comfort temperature at 6 PM, if between 6 - 8 pm no motion is detected in the house, set mode to standby temperature.
