Alter um7206: Pulse option

Hi,
I want to start my iRobot Roomba when I turn on my alarm system. To accomplish this I bought 2 um7206's which I've connected to the Roomba remote control. The idea was that when I switch the alarm on the um7206 will press 'Clean'.
This doesnt work because the 'pulse' option for the um7206 has a delay of about 2 seconds. This is too long for the remote control, and it sees this as a request to turn the remote control off. So I need to adjust the um7206 to reduce the pulse delay to just a very short time.
I've opened the um7206 but I cannot find a 'podmeter' or any other way to control the pulse time. Any one has any ideas on how to do this? Or maybe another way to turn my Roomba on?
