This schematic was (actually IS, but not for long anymore) monitoring for gas usage ("the reflecting 6"). If your electricitymeter has this same feature as the gas meter, i wouldn't know why not...
Regards,
Robert.

Richard,
Look here:
http://www.domoticaforum.eu/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=111
This topic contains the schematic. So if you're only a little bit handy with a soldering iron, i would DIY. Not that i won't let you have the one i built, but it's (IMO) much more fun doing those things yourself...
Just let me know what you prefer...
Robert.

sorry to kick this old topic, but i was wondering: there are differences between the 2 proposed schema's.
I know that one is completely battery powered and the other 5V powered.
Is the 2006943437_gas-schematic.jpg correct? (full dot means connection between crossing wires? and the second diode (left) just above the battery is not connected to anything?)

When you have a look at the Hobbyboards 1-Wire Dual Counter
schematic you'll recognize parts of it.
Answers to your questions:
Yes, well it worked for me

Yes.
See the Hobbyboards schematic.

I tried the layout from the first post, but i do not get any ticks...
When i hold the cny70 under a light i do get an increase (tick).
Does anyone had this problem too?
