Was working in Eindhoven and came across a substation where they dived the power from.
On the door a led bar/box showed the amount of power that was going out from it.
Had to stop and make a movie of it:

Very funny.
But 50 amps for a substation is not very much.
If the voltage is 230 volt the power used is 'only' 12kw....

That was my that as well, especially when there is a mc donalds and allot of office buildings next to it.

Times 3, this is a per phase current and next to that with AC the VA is not quite equal to watt, so that number would come down to round about 34.5KVA (48A) to 41.7KVA (58A)
