in the usa there is a fcc , the federal communications commision where all the devices that transmits radiowaves for whatever sort communication and sold in the usa have to be registered with all the availble inormation from the producer. http://www.fcc.gov , you can find each prduct by there code which has to be obtained before you can sell anything on the market.

http://www.fcc.gov/oet/ea/fccid/
does europe has such a thing ?
and i if they dont have that is a pity.
you dont have tobe dependant of the goodwill of the producer if sufficient information is available.
