Hi,
I still have a bunch of IDE drives laying around. I also have a drive bay with a case sliding in and out, where I can put an IDE drive in, reboot and use it.
But I want to use those IDE drives without rebooting, just like plugging/unplugging a USB stick.
I saw these: http://shop.conrad.nl/computer-en-kanto ... 74903.html#
(this is just an example)
Does anyone have experience with this?
And has one that works with 64-bit Windows?
Thanks,
IDE <--> USB converter
Re: IDE <--> USB converter
I don't know that one.
But I use 3 different ones of the type with Windows 7 64 bit.
No problem.
Regards
Morten

Ok, do you also have product names, links, article number or something else to show me the ones you use?
Re: IDE <--> USB converter
At home I use some cheap (from Aldi) Zolid USB 2.0 Ide and S-Ata Cable and an old Sandberg Aluline USB 2.0 Hi-Speed 3,5" box.

At work I have something more serious. If I remember, I will post the name tomorrow.
I guess almost everything will work, when one keep in mind the (low) quality of the devices, I use.

Thanks again!

Hi,
I bought this one with IDE, SATA and eSATA connector.
http://www.conceptronic.net/site/deskto ... ATAI23U_V2
25 euro including power adapter, all the cables needed, and (last but not least!) no additional software or drivers needed.
Works like a charm; in half an hour i 'mounted' 12 IDE disks and labeled them.
