Modify UM506 from 110V to 230V

Post by JanWillem »

I want to modify a UM506 universal module to 230V operation. On the internet I found instructions on Hans Attersjo's site. Yet, the components on the PCB don't seem to match his description. Can anyone help me which components (by component number) I should change? Or does anyone has e wiring diagram of this UM506?
Thanks for helping me out.

Ed, thanks for your input. The pcb of my universal module looks quite different from your powerflash module. See photo. Printed on the large blue cap is .47K 250V, a .47uf cap. I gues this one should be replaced for a 400V version, but at what value? Close to the large blue cap is the varistor; must be replaced with a 250V version. What else should be modified? Has anyone done this before or have a suggestion? The print on the small blue cap (C19) says "CE 222M", 250V. Any help or schematic is welcome.
