Bought in the local Conrad-shop in Berlin a Voltcraft ZS3 2-PIN VOLTAGE TESTER ("Duspol"). art. nr. 120187 - 89

But when connecting the tester to the 230volt-Mains (Phase and ground) then the Grondfault-Switch (aarlekschakelaar) switches off.
Perhaps the Voltcraft Voltage tester leaks more then 30 mAmp. In that case the Groundfault-Switch does its normal work.

But is it normal that a Voltage tester takes more then 30 mAmp?

I already had this when I bought a LED based tester more then 10 years ago. This is normal behaviour when you test between phase and ground.
This should not happen when you test between the phase and null line.
It is a good test for your Groundfault switches, the only other test is the test button on the switch itself.

But certainly I did not expect this behavior from a brandnew Tester.
I was very surprised to read on this new tester: Baujahr 2002 (yes, really !).

I am going to buy me a DMM with a high impedance (to save the groudfault-switch).
(off topic: I am thinking of a SANWA PC500 with LAN-interface and PC-link software)
