Are there door/window sensors/contact for using outside in combination with Rfxcom (433 or 868.95).

Is it possible to modify a Visonic MCT-302 for use outside?

Same question here. I searched several times for this sensors too, but can't find anything wireless.
Inside my house I use Visonic MCT-302T but try'd one of them inside a 'garden storage' (NL: stenen berging), with temperatures below 0 degrees, but the battery is empty after a few months and have some condensation problems....

Maybe something like this?

I haven't tried it and don't know on what frequency it operates / whether RFXCOM can pick it up.
Might be worth a look.

A different route could be using an outside rated PIR instead of door/window contact. Now most outside PIR's are a p.i.t.a. (too many false alarms), but Sooty (another forum member here)
has had good experiences with Visonic Tower 20AM, he seems not to have had any false alarms. The thing has actually won awards, etc... A bit more expensive though.

Another alternative if you have to use contacts could be using industrial magnetic switches +Visonic MCT 100. I learned about this also from Sooty who uses them to monitor open/closing of his outside gates.

I'm thinking about putting an MCT302 in some case. Protect it using some (gel) cover.
Any other ideas?
