Re: Powerlink serial pinout
not really a "conflict" but the fact that you went out of memory while installing package
Re: Powerlink serial pinout
It's seems probable.
I do receive my new MR3020 on saturday.
Today I try to use my serial/USB converter (http://cgi.ebay.fr/USB-to-Serial-Adapte ... 415d279d2b) with Powermax remote programmer software and pins like write VIKNET but the software doen't reconise my alarm.
It's seems that I do connect to the dual RS232 pins but I can't found GND pin; I see that but I don't know if it is OK

Re: Powerlink serial pinout
I don't understand but i need some information; you have a powermax+ or a powermax pro ?
why are you commenting about another picture see my picture at the beginning of the topic or attach a picture of your wiring (mail if required) I did put all information including where to get power, GND tx and rx remember that you have to wire tx from alarm to rx from usb ttl

Re: Powerlink serial pinout
did you install the serial driver:
you also have to edit /etc/pmaxd.conf
Code: Select all
opkg update
opkg install kmod-usb-serial-pl2303
Re: Powerlink serial pinout

Re: Powerlink serial pinout
libconfig is used, (but you noticed it)
avoid installing pmaxd at first and do some sanity check before:
with the router unplugged from the alarm:
install screen (remove it once finished to avoid taking too much memory)
test your usb TTL serial adapter,
then type something on the keyboard: --> nothing display on your screen
then connect RX and TX of your dongle together (not to the alarm) and retype something : --> whatever you type is written on screen
if yes: your serial dongle is working, if not do not try to go further.
Then connect to your alarm, launch screen and try to enroll the pmax (see your pmax doc): you should see some garbage on the screen
if yes remove screen and install the pmax daemon
edit /etc/init.d/pmaxd and remove the two line "testpmaxd" this daemon reboot the router if it see no answer from pmax
kill testpmaxd if required (it wait some minutes after a reboot before trying a reboot)
modify /etc/pmaxd.conf
verify pmaxd is not running

All was OK since to test RS232/serial dongle.
I have only 68Kb free and Screen is 142Kb hight
I am looking for an other solution for testing but I don't find

Re: Powerlink serial pinout
I compare my list of packages with yours; I have the double.
So I kill / remove a lot of them but my mr3020 doesn't was out of order; I think I delete a file that was useful.
Today I restart just on Tenet (192.168.1.1) and I am coming on the front page of OpenWRT; I was reassured.
Now, can I reinstall original TP Link firmware or reinstall OpenWRT?
Later I will install package by package, comparing with your list.
Thanks for your patience with me

probably one of the following :
http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/generic.failsafe
in your case probably :
rm -r /overlay/*
reboot -f
but check the whole page first
please send me the output of the "df"command

Re: Powerlink serial pinout
where did you get the original openwrt image, mine is from
http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr703n
find "squashfs-factory.bin" in the page
I think yours is a bit different or I missed something,
you can also send me a screenshot when you connect using ssh, to check your version, I will send you my screenshot once I get back home

Re: Powerlink serial pinout
Mine is this:
openwrt-ar71xx-generic-tl-mr3020-v1-squashfs-factory.bin
the great difference (I haven't /dev/mtdblock3 )comes because I have deleted wrong files
Now I can't connect by ssh because I have deleted files with my password ( see first and last line: "root@(none) )

Re: Powerlink serial pinout
for information when sshing I get :
but I am afraid I can't help you more, try sorting your issues with openwrt first, then retry installing pmaxd
